Exercise 5: Social Media Formatting
Assignment
Research current day social media image size recommendations and create one multi-page InDesign template file for social media posts. Then, make a sticker!
Part 1
1. Find the most up-to-date size recommendations for the following:
- Facebook, feed image
- Facebook, ad image
- Facebook, profile cover image
- Facebook, event cover image
- Facebook, page cover image
- Facebook, group cover image
- Instagram, square image
- Instagram, vertical image
- Instagram, story image
2. Create a single InDesign file with multiple pages in the correct sizes for each of the above, in the same order as the list above. Label each page w/ its image type + the size on a hidden layer or to the side.
3. Insert images onto each page (this can be anything and is only for the purpose of this exercise, so the exported images are not blank/white)
4. Export the images to the correct dpi and file type and rename them.
Part 2
1. Now, open Photoshop + Illustrator. Create a 3-5 frame animated gif sticker in Photoshop with one of the provided
Adobe Stock .ai files
2. Export to the correct file type. (File > export > save for web >)
